Mel Wymore (he/him/his) - Board Member

Mel Wymore (he/him/his) is an inventor, activist and social entrepreneur, and is dedicated to manifesting inclusive, exuberant and ecofriendly communities throughout the world.

A longtime community advocate and political organizer, Mr. Wymore co-founded or chaired over 30 organizations dedicated to empowering youth, seniors, people with disabilities, small businesses, LGBTQ and low-income communities.  He fostered the development of a community theater, a recreation center, two primary schools, and public spaces throughout Manhattan’s Upper West Side.  In 2013 and 2017, he was the first (and second) openly transgender person to run for public office in New York, sparking new awareness and dialogue about gender expression and inclusivity. 

Currently, Mr. Wymore spearheads global projects designed to transform our economic systems – creating learning games and tools that inspire collaborative creativity rather than competition and waste.

Formally trained in mathematics, speech communications, and systems engineering, Mr. Wymore’s professional experience spans several industries, including manufacturing, transportation, communications, hospitality, and digital enterprise.  Mel is the proud mom of two beautiful children.
