Parity Productions is seeking an Advocacy intern for the fall. This is an opportunity to observe up close the inside workings of a popular New York theatre company that, aside from its production arm, has a robust slate of advocacy platforms aimed at increasing opportunities for women and transgender artists. Interns will work with core team members to educate the industry about achieving hiring gender parity on production creative teams and will be educated about collaborating with other producers to advocate on behalf of NYC artists.
Requirements -Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university or college. -Must have authorization to work in the US without restrictions or future sponsorship. -Must be able to work 10-20 hours a week (minimum 5 hour shifts).
Intern Responsibilities -Create Artist Profiles for the soon-to-be-launched Women and Transgender Artists Database. -Research and contact potential women and transgender designers, directors, and playwrights to encourage them to submit to The Database before its launch -Research industry listings for Qualifying Productions to be listed in the Parity directory. -Contact producers and NYC theatre companies to inform them about the Qualifying Productions program and encourage them to submit. -Create listings for the Qualifying Productions directory.
Desired Skills -Self-motivated, with excellent time management capabilities. -Excellent phone manner and interpersonal skills (comfortable contacting theatre producers/designers/playwrights). -Experience with iWork suite. -Basic graphics skills, preferably Adobe Illustrator CS7. -Some experience with Weebly website editing.
Compensation -College Credit -Monthly MTA Metrocard. -Weekly reimbursements for meal expenses. -Tickets to Qualifying Productions as available.

DIGITAL MARKETING AND RETAIL INTERNSHIP FALL 2017
Parity Productions is looking for a Digital Marketing and Retail intern for the fall. This is an opportunity to observe up close the inside workings of a popular New York theater company that, aside from its production arm, has a robust slate of advocacy platforms aimed at increasing opportunities for women and transgender artists.
The Parity Store is one of several advocacy platforms Parity Productions offers in an effort to serve women and transgender artists. The successful candidate will help attract and manage sales for the store.
The applicant should possess strong knowledge of the digital media landscape, including various social media sites and dashboard outlets to determine the effectiveness of store marketing efforts. The candidate will also be responsible for contributing to website design projects, monitoring and posting on blogs and social networks in relation to the Parity Store, participating in online outreach and promotion and optimization of the store website. Most importantly, the candidate will be asked to provide creative ideas to help achieve our goals with the Parity Store, contributing to the development, expansion and maintenance of the platform.
