Hannah Benitez is an NYC based writer/performer named in June's issue of American Theatre Magazine’s as one of 6 Theatre Workers You Should Know. She’s a Cuban Jew and writes bilingually. She studied playwriting under Tarell Alvin McCraney & Marco Ramirez at NWSA High School. She received her B.F.A in Acting from FSU. Her commissioned plays: Ashe In Johannesburg (Burning Coal Theatre), Give My Regards (Bucks County Performing Arts) GringoLandia (Zoetic Stage- upcoming May 2020) and the new book for the musical in development, I Am. Other premieres: Adaptive Radiation (Denizen Theatre). Her play Dike was workshopped with the New York Theatre Workshop for director Tatiana Pandiani's 2020 Fellowship project and subsequently received an 8 week developmental run (Urbanite Theatre). Other readings and workshops with The Playwrights Center, Artists' Repertory Theatre, freeFall Theatre, Red Theatre, Maltz Jupiter Theatre. She’s represented by Elaine Devlin Literary Inc. and is an AEA actress/musician.
